The standard in short
Passive House, or Passivhaus, is a German-developed building standard focused on drastically cutting a building's energy demand through insulation, airtightness and high-performance glazing. What it asks of a window
A certified window has to hit a demanding whole-window U-value, with the frame, glass and spacer working as one system. It also has to be installed with airtight detailing, because uncontrolled air leakage around the frame is one of the biggest hidden energy losses in a home.
