uPVC Casement Windows Sydney
Side-hinged so the sash swings clear of the opening, a casement gives you the whole aperture for airflow and an uninterrupted view when open.
The casement is the most specified window style in our Sydney installations, and for good reason. Because the sash swings outward on side hinges rather than sliding within a track, the full opening is available for ventilation - roughly double what a sliding window of the same size delivers. It is also the easiest style to seal well: the sash pulls hard against a continuous gasket when the multi-point lock is thrown, which is what makes the difference between a window that merely closes and one that genuinely stops draughts and street noise.

Where a casement works best
Living areas, bedrooms and any room where cross-ventilation matters. They suit walls that face a prevailing breeze, because the open sash acts as a scoop and directs air into the room. Avoid them where the sash would swing over a walkway, a narrow side passage or a balcony you use - a sliding or awning window is the better answer there.
How ours are built
Frames are welded from five and six chambered European uPVC profiles - Aluplast, Kommerling, Deceuninck, Plustec or Schuco depending on the specification - and are rated for insulated glass units up to 44mm. That thickness allowance is what lets us fit genuinely heavy acoustic laminated glass rather than the thin units a slimmer frame forces on you. Hardware is Siegenia multi-point, engaging the frame at several points around the perimeter rather than at a single latch.
Glazing options
Double or triple glazed as standard, with Low-E coatings for heat control, acoustic laminated glass where road or aircraft noise is the driver, and toughened safety glass wherever the building code requires it. Where noise is the problem we specify two different glass thicknesses within the one unit, so both panes do not resonate at the same frequency.
