Thermally Broken Entrance Doors Sydney
The front door is usually the weakest thermal element left in a house after the windows are done - and the easiest one to forget.
Homeowners replace every window in the house and leave a hollow-core or uninsulated metal front door in place, then wonder why the entry hall is still cold. A thermally broken entrance door carries an insulating core and an interrupted frame, so it performs in the same range as the glazing around it, and it locks at multiple points around the perimeter rather than at a single deadbolt.
Security as standard
Multi-point locking throws hooks or bolts into the frame at several heights, which spreads any forced load across the whole jamb instead of concentrating it at one strike plate. Combined with a steel-reinforced frame and laminated glazing where there is a glass panel, it is a substantially harder door to defeat than the one it replaces.
Matching the rest of the house
Doors are finished in the same colour and woodgrain range as the windows, so an entrance replaced at the same time as the glazing reads as one job rather than two. Sidelights and highlight panels are built from the same frames and glass.
Where the draught actually is
On most of the entrances we replace, the losses are at the threshold and the head rather than through the leaf itself. A new door is only as good as the seal around it, which is why we remove the old frame entirely rather than fitting a new leaf into a jamb that has already moved.
